The Problem

This kids ecommerce brand was spending too much time trying to manage the ad campaigns themselves & felt there may be more ‘upside’ than they were currently seeing.

.... They were spending hours inside the ad platforms & felt their time was better spent elsewhere.

They were interested in working with an agency that could manage BOTH Meta & Google ad platforms, to help them grow their online sales.

They didn't want to divide their attention between multiple providers & thought that having one advertising partner could help them better utilise their advertising budget.

So we did a free, no obligation, no strings attached audit and here's what we found...

Problem #1

Running Ad Campaigns Themselves

The client was running the campaigns on Google themselves & found it hard to keep up with all of the ad platform updates & changes.

Problem #2

Short on Time

They didn't have time to manage their current agency, the inventory & the website. Time was spread thin & they knew they shouldn't be spending time in the ad platforms if they wanted to grow.

Problem #3

Multiple Vendors (Agencies)

Their current agency just did Meta ads (FB/IG) & didn't take care of Google Ads also. They didn't want to work with TWO agencies for their paid ads.

The Solution

We first audited their ad account and in that process discovered that they weren’t tracking the overall impact of their advertising spend on topline revenue, which meant they didn’t have a clear picture on whether it was Google, Facebook or Instagram driving the sales.

We immediately advised that regardless of who they proceed with, they should track their Blended ROAS, which helps to track ‘ad spend in’ vs ‘shopify revenue out’

Note: this is very simple to track & gives huge clarity.

Further in the audit we found that they were missing 3 key campaign types (across Google & Meta). This meant they were missing out on some low hanging fruit & quick sales. 

Specifically, there was a clear opportunity to lean into Google Shopping (Standard), reduce $ spent on Google Search & also leverage ads on Facebook that retarget parents looking to buy, with the exact product they were recently viewing. We saw this as the quickest path to lower the cost per purchase, without spending too much more.

Additionally, because their Facebook & Google campaigns were being managed separately the messaging wasn’t congruent & they weren’t sure which platform to put more budget into.

When we began working together, we took over Google & Meta & began keeping a close eye on their numbers so that they could continue to improve their amazing product without having to worry about working in those pesky ad platforms themselves.

Solution #1

Tracking MER & Blended ROAS

We helped them start tracking their overall advertising efficiency using TWO key metrics (MER, Blended ROAS). This helped identify months of underspend AND overspend, helping us better plan the budget for the year ahead.

Google Shopping & Advantage+ Catalogue Ads

These campaign types helped us leverage their product feed data, to get ads in front of parents at the exact time they're in buying mode across Google, Facebook & Instagram.

Managed Google, Facebook & Instagram Together

Combining the ad management under the one roof helped us ensure the messaging was congruent AND we were retargeting people across platforms.

The Result

Their store went from 850 orders in the month we took over, to 1,148 orders in the following month… In less than 4 weeks.

The best part, we didn’t drastically increase their ad spend at all.

We saw a 35% increase in orders from just 4% additional ad spend

So the marketing became significantly more efficient. Meaning more orders (and Rev) for the same ad spend.

  • Costing 22% Less per purchase
